Design Goal
Create an inclusive muscle release tool that targets psoas muscles (pictured left). It can be adjusted to a variety of settings to accommodate users of all sizes.
Context
The psoas muscles are the main connection to the upper and lower body. They help stabilize the spine and affect your posture. Tight psoas muscles can cause intense back pain.
Psoas muscle release tools do exist, but they are not inclusive to users who are significantly narrower or wider than the average person. With this in mind, I wanted to create a psoas muscle release tool that was accommodating to a variety of users.
Ideation & Prototyping
Creating sketches and CAD models allowed me to 3D print a prototype and fully visualize my product before beginning the manufacturing process
Manufacturing Process
Throughout the manufacturing process, I gained expertise in the mill, rotary table, band saw, as well as vinyl cutting and press fitting
