Product Design & Management @
Product Consulting (October 2022 - Present)
After my summer internship with Sequel, I stayed on to help manage the design choices and development of their tampon wallet. During this time, I organized timelines and was the point of contact with the manufacturer to drive the creation of the product
(Unfortunately, I can’t disclose images of the final design/product, but I have included some inspiration photos and an initial sketch)
My Responsibilities
Phase 1: Concept Determination
Work with the Sequel team to develop an internal POV on current trends, fabrics, colors, materials, and other considerations for the wallet.
Perform in-person merchandising research, customer interviews, and online research
Provide feedback to the Sequel team regarding any potential concepts and help shepherd the project to the concept presentation deliverable with the designer
Phase 2: Concept Refinement
Coordinate with the Sequel team and wallet designer to communicate feedback from both parties regarding the design direction and any additional refinements for the tampon wallet.
Ensure that we’re able to keep timelines so that refinement keeps pace to enable a concise time to kick off tech pack creation.
Phase 3: Prototyping
Remain the primary point of contact for the tech pack handoff
Coordinate contact with the Sequel team, designer, and the manufacturer
Organize timelines and be the point of contact with the manufacturer to drive the creation of the first sample
Review 1st sample (that includes construction, performance, carrying, and function)
Phase 4: Prototype Refinement
Work to create any additional artwork or concepts with the team to help provide direction and refinement for the second sample.
Coordinate with designer to continue driving the process with the manufacturer to ensure a clean handoff
